Bringing tradition and family cooking right to your table since 1947
LA NOSTRA STORIA
In 1947 Pasquale and Christina Tosches opened the South End Market at Brookside Avenue and Main Street in the Campello region of Brockton. It is here where they perfected their recipe for meatballs & sausages along with their famous red sauce. A few years later in 1952 Pasquale added a restaurant next door and began serving these popular items as sandwiches & entrees.
The business moved to 1071 Main Street in 1961 changing the name to the Italian Kitchen with Pasquale’s son, Gus Tosches taking the reign and building a legacy. In 1971 the Tosches family expanded their market next door, cementing what would become the Brockton institution it is known as today.

Over the years – the Italian Kitchen has continued to offer their famous meatballs and sausages while also selling other homemade specialties and offering event catering. This was all under the expertise of Gus’s son, the late John Tosches.

In 2022 - the Tosches family sold the business to their long-time friends, the Jamoulis family, owners of the Cape Cod Café, expanding upon the legacy that has been built over generations. The Jamoulis Family and all of our team members are very proud and thankful- buon appetito!
